Ok - a quick show of hands - who thought yesterday's game was over when the Falcons went up 17-0 at the beginning of the second quarter before the Niners had made a single first down?//Stupid guy typing at the keyboard raises his hand, stops typing for a moment//
I don't know how they do it. I really don't. Somehow, this team shrugs off adversity and defies the odds. Throw a pick-six on the first drive? No problem - we'll march right down and tie the game. Face a 17-point deficit - on the road, no less - in the conference championship? No biggie, we'll just stick with the game plan and grab the lead for good in the fourth quarter. Put the fate of an entire season into the hands of a second-year quarterback who looked absolutely lost two months earlier during the preseason? Sounds good, we'll break some records and see you at the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
We'll see you at the Super Bowl.
The 49ers. In the Super Bowl.
Of course.
