I thought I wouldn't have anything to post for another month or so while watching competent organizations compete during the postseason.
I was wrong.
Despite the fact that the 2010 season's Super Bowl is still more than three weeks away, I've already received my 2011 season ticket renewal package from the arrogant, underachieving, sub-.500 49ers. Not only have these clowns raised my ticket price from $116 to $129 per seat per game, they've also raised parking to $30 a game (if you've never had the "pleasure" of fitting you vehicle into a stall in the main lot, it's comparable to trying to slip your adult-sized feet into a pair of a toddler's walking shoes). Oh, and the parking pass is automatically included in your invoice if you had one the previous season. It's not an "option" that you can easily subtract. Final total? $2,884.00. Unbelievable.
But wait - it gets better.
These clowns want my first payment (50% or 100% only - they are no longer accepting 3 or 4 payment plans) by February 22. Yep, the 49ers want to start drawing interest on my money two months prior to the draft and without a collective bargaining agreement in place, which could jeopardize the start of the 2011 season. Hell, the league hasn't even determined who all of the 49ers opponents will be (there are two "TBD" entries in the list of 2011 opponents on my invoice).
For eight years I've supported this team while they've stumbled their way through the regular season, never coming close to a playoff berth. For eight years, I've gone along with every ticket price increase. For eight years, I've heard empty promises from three head coaches and countless members of the York family. For eight years, I've seen ZERO return on my entertainment investment. Now, this clueless collection of egoists without a single football accomplishment wants MORE?
So, I'm supposed to pay more money than I ever have before for the same seats in the same crappy stadium while the team DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A LEGITIMATE QUARTERBACK AND CANNOT SIGN ONE UNTIL THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT IS REACHED (which may not happen until next fall). And, we have another head coach who has never even been an NFL coordinator before. Sound familiar? It should - this has happened at least three times over the past half-dozen years. As a consumer, I refuse to purchase this shoddy product.
Not this time. Not anymore. But rather than extend the courtesy of notifying the team that I will not be renewing my tickets, I'm going to disregard this notice and make them reach out to me, at which point I will happily tell them where they can shove this invoice (hint - it's up their ass).
Screw this team. They can't even wait for the corpse of 2010 to be buried before they start hitting us up for more money. I thought money was no object, but I guess that only applies when YOU are spending MINE.

Niners Get Their Man + Another Excuse To Raise Ticket Prices
Congrats to the Lil' Jed for landing Jim Harbaugh - he'll look really good on my 55 inch TV next season.
Already looking forward to more boastful promises and rhetoric from the 49ers organization over the next several months. "We're going to be great - so pay us more now!"
The Harbaugh signing will be an excuse for the 49ers to act like they just won their second straight Super Bowl despite not accomplishing jack sh*t for eight seasons and playing in a piece of sh*t stadium.

Money, Money, Money
Still think money is no object, Lil' Jed?
You're about to get punked (and out-spent) by the Dolphins, and you've painted yourself into quite a corner if you fail to land Harbaugh.
Your "Plan B" was Josh McDaniels? He's already said he has no interest. That's amazing, considering he's UNEMPLOYED. I guess he didn't see anything he liked when he videotaped the Niners' practice session in London.
Just more lies and BS. Like your postseason guarantee.

Yeah, So About This Baalke Thing...
Along with most Niner fans, I can only express disappointment that Lil' Jed ended up choosing somebody in-house to become the next GM. Obviously, Lil' Jed's remarks following the Rams debacle about an extensive search for the person to right this sinking ship was a load of garbage. At the end of the day, all Lil' Jed wanted was a "yes man" that he was comfortable with, and I have no doubt that he will continue to meddle in the team's affairs depsite his claim that he'll only write the checks from now on.
Hiring Baalke sends the message to the fanbase that this clueless organization actually thinks they are on the right track and that they just need to get a head coach to take care of business on the field (naturally, their top choice is yet another guy with no prior NFL head coaching experience). Everything else, according to management, is super, thanks for asking.
Jed thinks he's doing a great job. He thinks Baalke's doing a great job. He thinks he has great players. He thinks he's going to build a state-of-the-art stadium.
In reality, Jed hasn't accomplished sh*t. He's made terrible hires - especially at the head coaching level. Aside from maybe 5-7 players, the rest of the roster is full of overpaid underachievers. The stadium is still years away from breaking ground as many financing issues remain unanswered. He's a privileged 29-year-old who has no concept of how to run a large corporation and is completely unaware (or ignorant) of the average fan's gameday experience.
In fact, the only thing Jed has managed to accomplish is to increase the number of empty seats at Candlestick Park on Sundays. I'm happy to say that I'll contribute two more of those empty seats for the 2011 season.

| Cousin Balki has as much chance of turning around the Niners' fortunes as Trent Baalke. |
What annoys me most is that, even if Baalke were the most qualified person for the job, it's still a bad hire. The 49ers needed to look outside of their organization for their next GM, simply because everything they have done up to this point has been a major failure. As a fan, I'm disgusted that anybody who contributed to the team's miserable performance over the past eight years would be given the keys to the car.
